Are you an experienced Financial Controller or Bookkeeper looking for an opportunity to join a modern, ambitious, and growing independent estate agency?

Our client is a well-respected, forward-thinking business based in Chester that is continuing to expand and is now looking for someone to take ownership of the day-to-day financial function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit team where your input will genuinely make a difference.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the company’s finances, ensuring accurate reporting and maintaining strong financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping
• Bank reconciliations
• Purchase and sales ledger
• Credit control
• VAT returns
• Payroll (if experienced)
• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Cash flow forecasting
• Supporting directors with financial reporting and business performance
• Liaising with accountants where required

About You

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Bookkeeper or Senior Accounts professional
• Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping principles
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload
• Experience within property or estate agency would be advantageous, but not essential
